Since we have yet to be selected for a reality show we have decided to give you all a sneak peak into our lives on a day to day basis...ENJOY!

The post Halloween debut of PB&J

It was Friday afternoon when we received the first call from the trouble maker herself ..Melissa. She informed us that throughout the past week she has had numerous requests for PB&J to return to Escalon. How could we say no to our new fans?!??! Now, we know these people are classier than wrestlers, coors light cans and transvestites, so we got ourselves all dolled up and headed out. We walk into the bar...it felt like we were on a walk of shame due to the fact that we couldn't remember anyone we had met on Halloween night. But then out of the crowd we heard a chant "O-H!" and our heads popped with an "I-O!" and we felt welcomed in! One new friend informed us that we were chanting this throughout the night of halloween, as well as peanut butter jelly time! Needless to say we had no idea and therefore gained back another memory of that EPIC night.

Not 2 seconds later we were handed shots that tasted like fresh squeezed lemonade..I don't think these people learned the lesson that us and liquor are a deadly combination. This exchange of shots continued well into the night. We could not be rude to our new friends and say no! We also dabbled in a little moose drool (dark chocolaty beer) and a new friend Justin's Pinot Grigio....again how can you say no. So the horrible combinations continued on throughout the night.

After the first stop we headed to the much talked about VI bar and lounge. It is one of 2 bars in Escalon and it is AMAZING! We were there for no more than 15 minutes when we realized you could karaoke upon request and they had TWO microphones! When the DJ announced PB&J, we ran to the stage and belted out our best version of hang on sloopy. We were trying to give a lil piece of home to our new friends but pictures later revealed that no one was participating or even looking our way for that matter. When we were finished one man (who is a questionable friend) told us, more like yelled at us to "Don't ever F*%$ing do that again! That was terrible!". We laughed and moved on knowing that sticks and stones may break my bones but words may never hurt me! (I hope he is there the next time! Cuz we will be back!)

We were having a good time when suddenly water sprayed the sides of our faces. Looking around we were a little dazed and confused as to why this turned into a water fight..when we realized that one girl slapped another girl and a fight had broken out. We later come to find out that this happened to be our coworker in her not so finest moment. Needless to say she got kicked out! She needs a lesson on keepin it classy in such a classy establishment..

The rest of the night is a blur but what we do remember is
1. We got invited to Cabo next week
2. We got invited to Vegas for a rodeo and a stay in the upper floor of the MGM
3. Wine tasting at 3pm the next day (there is no way we could make that)
4. We met Jenn's babysitter from her escape to the swingset halloween night
5. We gave relationship advice to one of our new friends (clearly they do not know us at all)
6. People were tearing up when we said we only had one month left in Modesto and begged us to stay!
 and
7. We will always be known as PB&J..a name we wear with pride!

OctoberFEST!

Soooo.. you know we have not been around for awhile but we have been busy beavers the whole month preparing for the final day of October!! And let me tell you this month was completely EPIC! We will start from the beginning so fear not here comes our fantasy life!

The Beginning of October starts with the real reason we are here: WORK! The entire hospital went live with a new computer system and how convenient that they named it: EPIC! Things were fine, it is literally just a computer system but the regular employees had some anxiety about the matter.  Being tweedle dee and tweedle dum we threw out as much sarcasm as possible to lighten the mood. People think we are "super users" but we are just good 'ole travel nurses ready to adapt to anything that comes our way. Andddd, thats enough work talk for now! Onto the real fun!

Since we were in a helping, giving mood we decided to dedicate our Saturday morning to Habitat for Humanity. We met Trish, head contractor aka Spastic Sally. Then there was Ron, counselor extraordinaire! In close tow was his group of delinquents that god only knows the reasons they were there. So naturally we made friends immediately and soon became mentors for these young troubled minds. Overall they taught us how to hammer and we taught them how to live a fantasy life. Had we scored the reality TV show we want, you could have seen the lives changing before your eyes. Scary, right?!?!?! The day ended with free lunch and one delinquents stealing Jenn's water bottle, apparently we did not reach that sad sack.

Sara went home for a week and Jenn stayed here, yes we do separate from time to time. But believe me it was not easy and extremely sad week away from each other. Sleep was scarce with one twin bed cold and empty.

Being the cheap asses that we are, the only email at work that really stuck out was for discounted tickets at the pumpkin patch. These tickets included the scariest haunted house ever! and a corn maze that you could be lost in for days if you are not smart. Luckily, both minds were present which created a whole one.

Being that this month had to be epic our first stop was Wal-mart to get matching PUMPKIN face shirts! Let me tell you they wear cute! We almost could not control our excitement on the 20 minute drive there. Occasional outbursts and careless driving was the result of our long awaited trip to the pumpkin patch. Once we got there we realized the matching shirts and lack of children may have made us stand out a bit. Some looks and snickers confirmed this. However, we reassured ourselves with our favorite motto: "We are only here for a couple months and will never see these people again". We carried on through mazes of activities with each one opening our mouths a lil wider perhaps some drool even graced the corners of our lips! This place was huge! First stop, haunted house. You think being in our mid 20s we could handle a haunted house in the broad daylight, but we couldn't! We held eachother tightly and began to sweat profusely. I think we were the only 2 screaming the entire time through ever twist and turn. When we finally made to the end the lone scarer mocked us. This is when we realized that only 2 people were working the haunted house and one was outside at the beginning. Apparently does not take much to entertain and scare us. Once our heartbeats calmed down we snapped numerous pictures behind cutout pumpkins, corns, sunflowers, trains, and our favorite zip liners.

Next, we tried to hop a fence into kiddie land but for some reason we chose not to, only to find you had to be less than 100lbs and pay extra. Not only would it have been embarrassing, but we could have gotten kicked out and missed out on the fun to come! So we carried on.

The corn maze: it was huge, it was cut out like some space NASA exhibit, it had really difficult questions about space that made us feel stupid, and again there were people laughing at us throughout the maze. Needless to say, we wandered around acting a fool until we found a group of people who knew how to read the map. We casually joined their group with a couple quick jokes and they led us out of this horrible maze. Next time we are taking a flask so at least we will have rations if we are lost.

One downfall was that we did not get carted out to the field on hayride, but instead they brought the pumpkins to you. Knowing the ones on the ground had been picked over we decided to jump up on the tractors to sort through the good ones. One worker offered us job as he sat back and watched us. With much debate we picked 2 of the best pumpkins in the entire world! At this point the patch had seen enough of us and we had beer to drink and pumpkins to carve! We made our way our home only to get about a mile when we realized our precious cargo was not safe in the trunk. So we pulled over and strapped em in.

The entire act of pumpkin carving took up the whole rest of our evening, but the result was well worth it. Especially, with the pumpkin seeds! (that almost burnt down our house making, not sure if it was our irresponsible drinking or faulty oven..go with the oven)

Back to work for a minute. We realized that we work with some of the best people ever. Melissa helps us with our drinking skills and Juliet helped us with our sewing skills during the next part of this epic month.

Napa Valley is about 2 hours away and Melissa's family are members at what seems to be every winery there. She got us a private taste testing at one of the nicest wineries. For the first half we behaved like princesses in a palace. However, the wine was strong and when we were told it was time go and wine was still on the table there was a problem. This issue had to be fixed quick. As Melissa was being escorted to pick up here $1200 worth of wine. Jenn and Sara realized that Sara had left very important paperwork in the wine tasting room and had to go back to get it immediately followed the smells of undrunk wine and finished off our glasses...we simply could not be rude. Food was a must so we stopped for burgers at Gott's Joint that was from dives, diners, and drives or drivers, diners and dive ins...A hell it was one of those places from the food network and it was good! The next winery was nothing special but Melissa met her future husband there ;) He glided and talked with such a soft tender voice it just eased the mind. We had to drag Melissa out of that one!! Next stop was determined by our BOGO coupon, which ended up being free anyways, we are not sure how or why people just give us things but we are not going to question it. Napa was fun but there are more serious things to come!

HALLOWEEN!! Just a week away and we have yet to find the perfect duo costume. Out of nowhere we come up with an EPIC costume! PB and J!!! For some this task may be a challenge but we are determined to make the best costume ever. We basically asked who had a sewing machine, when we got turned down by some we basically begged Juliet to let us use hers. She was more than welcoming to have us! The actual construction of the bread only took a little while. It was the banana bread, fresh fruit, home grown figs, and coffee that kept us there all day. Finally, Juliet wrapped up a loaf of bread, the rest of fruit and cheese, and entire bag of coffee beans and the coffee machine/grinder and shipped us out the door. Once home we smeared the costumes with peanut butter and jelly and stood back to view this epic costume!

Airy even got in on the festivities with her pumpkin costume from the 99 cent store. (Our favorite store ever)

Days later it was party time! We were told to bring something to share so we made jell-o shots with an entire bottle of vodka (Later we come to realize that we may have had more that our fair share).  Then it was onto beautifying ourselves. In all the excitement we thought that our cardboard filled, larger than life pieces of bread could fit in the car with us still in them...EPIC fail. A couple passersbys snickered but no worries we stripped our bread and were on the road. We needed to stop to get a beverage for the evening. When we stopped in a small town grocery store to buy liquor in only black spandex we again got looks and snickers (not the candy). We found rum and coke and took it to the counter, but the cashier refused to sell to out of staters!!!!!!! Literally we were thinking this was a halloween trick and made a joke out of it too. People around us would not buy it for us either, so we realized we were out of luck and to the liquor store we must go! Then we headed to Angies, aka unicorn. We tried again to act shy and coy but PB and J could not be restrained! From this moment on the night is blur, bits and pieces are found through pictures. The party bus took us to the Santinis Milk Farm and Barn. The Barn was Amazing! Jenn just kept saying " Sara you won't believe this! You are going to shit yourself!" And that was just 2 steps into the barn! I mean there were spider webs, pumpkins, ghosts, Frankensteins, food, drinks, a live band dressed like the ghostbusters! I mean really is this real life!?!?! So naturally we pretended it was not and but be part of the fantasy we live and completely acted a fool. There was dancing and not just any dancing. One minute PB and J were sandwiching the Easter Bunny or a Flamingo or drinking milk from the wet T-shirt contest chic! We even met a white man turned black in ESCALON! Apparently this is unheard of in the small town of Escalon. You would think with co-workers present we would behave, but this was not the case. Jelly disappeared to a truck and peanut butter thinks she was on swings. Neither can recall with who, but they were definitely "sailing" with Jerry! Thankfully the party bus scooped us all back us and delivered us safely our new friend Angies house. We found the key under the mat and let ourselves in.

The next morning was rufffff! Literally we had to head to San Fran for the 49ers vs Browns game immediately. So we stopped home, shed what was left our costumes, threw on some browns gear, took our morning after pills aka ibuprofen and headed out the door. Jenn's mom said we shouldn't be driving, which has only happened one other time in our life so we must have sounded still drunk.. Grease was needed so MACDonalds it was. When they wouldn't serve us lunch we settled for some egg mcmuffins and were on the road again. Once in San Fran we quickly checked in to our luxurious hostel and caught a cable car to the stadium. On the way there we thought we were delusional when we saw a small baby perched on top of the trash can. We realized this was going to be a loooong eventful day. We chose not to take the baby as we had enough responsibility caring for ourselves....

We were welcomed onto the train by fellow Browns fans, but once off the train it was a ghetto walk to a shitty stadium. At this point our buzz was wearing off and hangover hell was setting in. Just in time for high temperatures and hecklers everywhere! We sat thru a couple of quarters and literally thought we were gonna die, so we headed back to the city. People hated that we were Browns fans, but loved our masks so all in all we made a lot of new friends on the train. After some good, fresh sea food at the fisherman's wharf we headed home to the hostel. We thought we would just head back to rest our baby eyes, but when we walked in a full blown halloweeen party was underway in the common area. We had to join and do a lil people watching. We found people there who had never celebrated halloween ever! They were giddy excitement. We also discovered hostels are EVERYWHERE! With this new knowledge you can only imagine what EPIC adventures are to come! When we woke up we realized in our moment of drunkeness the day before we had forgotten to pack a toothbrush, change of clothes, soap, or any other sanitary items. So we had to jet back to our equally filthy apartment and do some damage control. You cannot judge us, but we did smell like rot and when we got home our pumpkins had rotted from the inside out full of flies and possibly maggots. GROSSSSSSSSS! Our apartment looked like someone robbed it, but first made a nice dinner of grilled cheese and tomato soup and left all the dirty dishes! (oops! that must have been us before the halloween party).

We still needed a to have bit more adrenaline going for work that night! It was after all halloween night! So we made caramel apples covered in candy for work, and again wore our matching pumpkin shirts!

The days after this are a blur. We spent the first couple days of November catching up on sleep and rebuilding ourselves, preparing for the next epic event!

As we write this we realize how EPIC the month of October was, but for us it is just another day in the life of Jenn and Sara and their fantasy life!

Today was a sad day :(

Today was the day our two new friends left for home in Alabama. Yes, we do have friends.
Before the girls left we had a couple exciting events happen here in good ole Modesto!

First, it was Christmas!
Jenn and I were sitting in bed around 130 AM reading and wishing we had some ice cream.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Hayley was at the door like Santa with bags and bags of goodies!
Hayley and Elizabeth packed up all the crap they didn't need and brought it to our house! Now, you all know how cheap we are so this literally felt like X-mas.
We got things from candy to toilet bowl cleaner, from ice cream to hangers and dressing and a fan and toilet paper and pasta and gogurt!! This was the best!

LESSON OF THE DAY! ..
One WOmans trash is another WOmans treasures!

Anyways, we had to get to bed because the next day held a full blown pool party for all the residents at our apartment complex. I nice social gathering with free food, prizes, and a raffle. This seemed to be the week of FREE!
The pool party was less than exciting..so we spiked our drinks, sat back and took in the scene that was surrounding us. One man trying to serve hors d'oeuvre will a fork...seemed simple, but not when it is a wrap. The poor guy just kept trying and each time was the same result complete mess on everyones plate. Next, a middle aged man decided he wanted to be the "life of the party" and jumped in the pool fully clothed right in the middle of an intense dance contest! Attention seeking behavior if you ask me. I got played by a Philipino woman who was enjoyable to talk to and even brought us all over pizza. The next thing I know she is making up that some of her other friends were there and she had to go, but before she left she introduced me to a very nice gentleman that I could not be rude and ignore. Great! No help from Jenn and Mindy as they snicker  at the situation. Needless to say it was a good people watching scene.
While sitting there is all Jenn wanted was a T-Shirt because she is running short on them. So we tried and tried to win her one by spinning the wheel and manipulating it, and trying to snag everyones tickets on the way out ..but nothing was working! Later, we found the owner and simply ask if we can have some damn shirts and she said "Sure! I will drop that by the pool tomorrow!" She knows us sooo well! Perfect!
The rest of the evening was filled with more drinks and laughs until we decided to call it a night because we had to wake up extra early for a farewell breakfast with Hayley and Elizabeth.

They let me make cotton candy!!

The wake up call was extra early due to the fact that I can't see and especially can't see in the dark so I accidentally ran into Jenn's bed at 5 am and we never really could fall back to sleep after than because we were hungry..imagine that!
So we got up made a goodie bag for the girls and headed to the Black Bear Diner.  I can only describe what we ate by a picture...
STEAK AND TATERS!!

It was delicious and since it was National Coffee Day we had to get us a souvenir! "Complimentary" coffee cups! This Free week has been really amazing!

Before long it was time for the final goodbyes, but not before we a picture with the bears that we all having been trying so desperately to see!

Notice Elizabeth in the window?!?! HA

We will leave you with one final poem that we were inspired to write for the girls before they left!

I feel like we just met
O! But please don't fret!
We will meet again I bet
A quick date must be set!
And we will even bring our pet.

Until next time!

Camping with the Boy Scouts...

After 6 hours of the most draining computer training course, Jenn and I decided that we would indeed take Hayley and her roommate Elizabeth up on the offer to a trip to Carmel/Monteray.

Some background here:

!. Hayley and Elizabeth stay in hotels and Jenn and I camp or stay in hostels
2. Hayley and Elizabeth plan out their activities while Jenn and I completely wing everything.
3. We all like a good case of beer.

Soo, with that being said we packed up our camping gear including 2 person tent, pizza pie iron with ingredients for smores, and of course Airy.

Before we headed for the open road we had to go to the 99cent store to re-inflate Airy due to the fact that she may have made friends in the new neighborhood and is "loose" to the point where she rapidly needs to be re-blown up... Needless to say, Airy is grounded for the time being.

A quick 2 hour drive landed us on the beautiful shores of Santa Cruz just in time for a quick stop at the beach to watch the sunset.

Now it was time to meet up with the girlies and try and find a campsite in the dark. :( We had to meet the girls at a Ross because they had forgotten blankets and after stories of our last trip in the freezing cold parks of Yosemite they wanted to take no chances.

The first campground pulled up on the GPS was non-existant, the second was a KOA (which is basically like humans being hearded into their designated area and NOT a great camping experience), and the third was just what we wanted. It was a secluded area on the beach with plenty of space. The only problem was they were booked up for the night. Jenn did some detective work and found that they were all full with a total of 90 sites, this was crucial to our master plan. We pulled up to the front and told the ranger we were meeting friends and where not positive whose name or what site they had, We rambled off a couple made up first and last names and they searched their list. When none were found she fell into our plan and offered a 15 minute pass to find "our friends" and bring back their site and last name. The challenge was on: We had 15 minutes to drive to the back of the park, make friends, get a last name, and shack up on their site.....Adrenaline was pumping and we were on for the challenge.

We raced to the back, pulled in, did a quick circle to scope it out. We found 3 guys in the very back with a large site and a blazing fire. This seemed like a no brainer, We put our best faces on and asked to share a site...We were immediately turned down and completly dumbfounded. Who could turn us down!!!!

We had little time to fret over the fact that we had been completely rejected and chalked it up to the fact that clearly there was something wrong with these people. Anyways, the next event is pure gold. We can attribute this to my grampa, Big Boy. He always said that a group site is the palce to be with ample amounts of room and usually friendly groups of people. The group site is exactly what we found at sunset beach campground. We pulled up and  had to walk out to talk to those in charge.

We were looking around and asking for the person in charge, no one stepped up except for one man who later went by Prince, as this was not only his last name but the name we needed to tell the ranger in the front. Prince said there was plenty of room, gave us a quick tour, told us the coals were still hot, the fire was blazing and we could drink our beer if we were discrete due to the fact that this was a father/son boyscout camp weekend.

So we raced to the front told the ranger that "our friends" just happened to be the boyscout troop 42. She looked at her watch, only to notice we had 2 minutes to spare, and gave us our car passes with a quick roll of the eyes. We were in!

We went back, set up camp, made pizza pies and smores, drank beer out of cups we found in the cars and of course shared with the boys and their fathers. The boys (and their dads) really seemed to enjoy the company. They said the head leader wouldn't be here until tomorrow so it was really no problem. The boys told us stories of earning certain badges and merits. They also taught Jenn and I a chant:

L-I-O-N-S
D-E-N we sing
Lions Den! Lions Den!
42 is KING!!

With a couple beers in us we decided to teach the boys some of our songs: Down by the bay was the first that came to mind. They thought we were nuts!

The boys had to retreat to bed eventually, some of the dads stayed up for a bit and then all four of us girls and Airy piled into our 2 person tent. Hayley wanted to sleep in the car, but with me pulling her arms and Jenn lifting her legs and pushing her she had no choice but to join the party and sleep in the tent.

It was more comfortable and warm than you would think..in the AM we heard rustling and snickering, The boys were up. They came up to our tent, knocked on it and said the best words we could have heard that mroning: "Girls. It's time to wake up. We made you breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and fresh fruit." Let me tell you it was a delicious start to the day!

Knowing that the chief was coming soon we had to break down camp, bid our farewells and head on out.

Afterwards, we took the famous 17-mile drive through Pebble Beach and Carmel and saw awesome houses and beautiful views. Then, it was home just in time to make it to work!!!

More fun to come! I am sure of that!

Time for Pillow Talk!

Beans! Beans! good for your heart! The more you eat the more you FART! The more fart the better you FEEL so eat your BEANS with every meal!!!

Now that we got your attention we can explain why we are the way we are....

Night shift seems to be in full swing here in good 'ole Modesto, Ca and it is clearly starting to get the best of us. Our good friend Mike on night shift at The James Cancer Hospital started an outrageous addiction to chocolate covered expresso beans and we now realize that those are what got us through those long shifts...soooo Mike, being the AWESOME dealer he is has shipped a bag to us...but we haven't gotten them so we wake up everyday wishing and hoping that today will be the day when those magical beans will appear on our doorstep.

Anyways, since we have not updated everyone on our current job here it goes!...

Modesto, Ca ...

Hmmm... what can I say...Well our apartment is nice, we have a a pool, washer, dryer, a stove, and a refrigerator. We also decided that it would be a swell idea to save a lil extra cash this time around and bunk up. TWIN BEDS!!! Now most normal people would think this is a damn foolish idea but this has honestly been the funnest part about Modesto. We have created Pillow Talk in which we can discuss various aspects about life and death, goals, dreams, and just pure stupidity. Needless to say we have spent many nights just entertaining ourselves. (Don't worry we will be sure to keep you updated on pillow talk convos).

Now this room is not just made for sleeping. We have created an area where we can do sooo many countless activities. We have transformed this room into a dining room, TV/theater room, workout area, an office (because our "borrowed" internet only works here), and also a reading room. This room is fully loaded to say the least. Soo when we are not spending time in our room of many faces, we are most likely at work.

Work consists of the standard 3 day 12 hour shift schedule; however, we got a slap in the face with endless amounts of computer modules and classes for the new system this hospital is getting. Basically, this puts us at about 42 hours a week...I know it is really wearing on us. The people we work with are Awesome! A fellow traveler took us under her wing and really led the way for us as she introduced to the staff. Hayley is one of a kind..a true southern bell. She has a one of a kind pocket book and trust me there aint no spare change in there! We love ya Hayley! The next person we met was Melissa. Melissa opened our eyes to numerous things here in Modesto. For example, shelac. This is no ordinary nailpolish. This is polish that is thick and stays on for weeks...perfect! But the most important development from Melissa has been the recent knowledge of her having twin brothers who happen to be 24 years old and not identical. We have decided that they may be our soul mates and we will probably be attending Thanksgiving dinner at their house! No one but us knows that sooooo it will be a GREAT surprise. By no means is any of the other staff unworthy of being mentioned, but we don't want to bore you with the gory details.

So far, adventures outside of Modesto have included a trip to Yosemite in which we froze our asses off and did NOT see a bear in the process. :( Airy went with us and  LOVED to camp..a little scared in the tent at night but overall she was a real trooper! ...Since we basically suffered and had no cash to pay for a site we learned a valuable lesson..."sometimes traveling without money is not always a bad thing"

We also took the big jump and went skydiving. It was a THRILL! You basically just have to do it to understand what it feels like because words cannot describe. That was a big check off the bucket list and we are now in search of something new to obsess over..Ideas are welcome.

Welp, I think that is all to update you on for now...we will keep you posted as much as possible...we try not to ever have to many dull moments!
